Bergerac Airport

The closest airport to the Château is Bergerac Airport, which is only about a 1 hour 20 minute flight from the UK. There are a number of regular flights from East Midlands and London Stansted. Best of all, Bergerac Airport is only around a 25-minute drive to the local town of Eymet, making it the easiest and most convenient option for getting here.

  • It is quick and easy to hire a car from Bergerac Airport, and it’s a great option as it gives you the freedom to explore the local vineyards and beautiful countryside at your own pace. The rental desks are just outside the terminal (a 30-second walk away), with companies such as Enterprise, Europcar, Sixt and many more to choose from. Do remember to pre-book, as it’s peak season and availability can be limited.

  • If you would prefer not to hire a car, there are a few local taxi options available. We personally recommend Mark (Eymet Private Driver) - a lovely English gentleman who now runs a private taxi company in Eymet (and with whom we have shared many a bottle of French wine!).

    His prices are as follows:

    • €60 each way for up to 4 passengers

    • €70 each way for up to 6 passengers

    • €80 each way for up to 8 passengers.

Bordeaux Airport

Bordeaux Airport is another great option for getting to Eymet, with regular flights from across the UK and beyond. From there, it’s around a 1 hour 30 minute drive to the local town of Eymet, making it a convenient choice if Bergerac flights do not work for you.

  • For those flying into Bordeaux, renting a car is a straightforward and popular choice. It is especially handy if you would like to make the most of being in the heart of a world-famous wine region, with plenty of opportunities to stop off and explore along the way. Car rental companies including Enterprise, Europcar, Sixt and many others have desks located near the terminal. Remember to pre-book!

  • At Bordeaux Airport (BOD), you will find both traditional taxis and Uber available. Taxis can be picked up directly outside Hall A, while Uber rides can be requested through the app at the designated pickup point. We recommend pre-booking where possible, as demand can be high.
